  1. Asrock Alivenf6g-dvi Drivers For Mac Free

I've just upgraded my trusty MSI KT4AV with an ASRock ALiveNF6G-DVI and an AMD 64 x2 2.3GHZ CPU. I've reasonable experience with PC builds (this is my 4th build) and have never had any major issues until now.

I've plugged in all the cables to the ALiveNF6G-DVI and can't get anything from the board at all. Total silence.

Not even the fan on the heatsink goes round. I'm running off what I think is a 280W power supply which did my old MSI board fine. I can only think that the board is DOA, or that my power supply might not be high enough, although I can't find any mention of a minimum wattage for the board on the ASRock website. Any help as always will be appreciated.

OK, I've got it all up and running after buying a 500W power supply. Am typing this on my upgraded PC while doing some DVD converting However, everything is far from rosy. The CPU often seems to be seizing up whenever I try to have more than one application open, resulting in the PC doing nothing ie hanging and applications stop responding to the system. My DVD conversion software stopped doing anything for a minute a while back and Firefox stopped altogether before both sprung back in to action. Thorp hex drivers for mac.

Is there anything I need to be doing in the BIOS to solve this, or is my PC and or mobo up the spout? OK, I've got it all up and running after buying a 500W power supply.

Can't see the connection at all between tasks seizing and the processor, this isn't a processor problem from what i can see. If the CPU is overheating due to incorrectly fitted heatsink then as more intensive tasks are carried out, the cpu gets hotter and it might freeze up or throttle back the cpu's speed to prevent damage. There are some excellent, albeit old, videos on Tomshardware where the heatsink is removed from working CPUs. The AMD's would explode, the P3 would freeze and the P4 would throttle back and keep running very slowly.

Like I say, this was about 4 or 5 years ago now but did demonstrate this nicely. Obviously these are exteme examples of overheating! Here's the video (and it's older than thought. The dvd converting that was mentioned would have been running the cpu flat out at a constant 100% useage,if there was a cpu issue it would have blue screened within minutes of that process starting. Well those temps sound fine so I don't suppose that's the issue at all.I just thought it worth a mention as it crops up from time to time. Sometimes people put on lashings of heatsink compound and too much can cause poor heat transfer. Not to worry, my heatsink had pre-applied compound on it. The PC's behaving better today, but I'm going to do some DVD ripping and see how the CPU temp copes.

I know this might seem a daft thing to say, but as I've built this pc myself, do the motherboard, dual core CPU, and new XP installation need time to bed in together before they start behaving as they should? I've never had this problem with previous single core builds. Not to worry, my heatsink had pre-applied compound on it. I've never had this problem with previous single core builds. You did format and install a clean copy of XP didnt you? And the nforce drivers are the latest ones from nvidia? What gfx card? What gfx card? I admit to not formating as I didn't want to lose what I have on my two drives. But I installed Xp Pro on my second drive which had no OS on it. Graphics card is inbuilt in the mobo, and have installed the drivers off the CD which came with the board. Only does 32bit colour which I'm a bit peeved about as my old AGP had 64bit.

Anyway, I've just ripped Matrix Revolutions to my hard drive in 20 mins (much faster than I'm used to) with CPU temp going up to 36C, and am DVD Shrink-ing the files to my hard drive to test the CPU. Temp is hovering abound 42C, with DVD shrink taking less than 10 mins to do the business.
