Hi My disk is SSD APPLE SSD TS256C ATA Device. My Graphics is the integrated one Intel, NOT Nvidia. The problem of corruption is caused by ( i guess) the following msg in event viewer of win7 The driver detected a controller error on Device Ide IdePort0. I have hundreds of this errors! In DEVICE MANAGER In IDE ATA/ATAPI controller I have ATA Channel 0 - Target Id 0 -Device type Ata Disk- Current Model Ultra DMA Mode 5 ATA Channel 0 - Target Id 1 -Device type ATAPI Cdrom/- Current Model Ultra DMA Mode 5 Device properties Enable DMA is selected.

On both ON Ata Channel 1 there is nothing After I have Intel 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family 4 port Serial Ata storage Controller - 1C01 Can you kindly help to solve this? I Think that in a few hours I will be not able to run win7 again. I had to repair disk with chkdsk because of corrupted files ( i guess Apple Software.it did not start). I download the windows support file with bootcamp, but I tried the ones on Mac DVD but still atapi errors!) Is the driver controller? The disk or the controller that is damaged?edit after a few hour most of the win files become corrupted again.

Do you understand what 'Idle' means? 97-99% idle means only 1-3% of the CPU is being used. So let me put it this way - are you concerned that 1-3% of the CPU is being used when the system is sitting idle (aka not running any programs)?

As has been explained about IDE channels, there are 2 (primary & 2ndary) & each channel can support 2 devices (master & slave). So the device possibilities are: primary master + primary slave 2ndary master + 2ndary slave And there are optimal ways of configuring the devices depending on how many devices you have & whether they are HDDs or optical drives. I won't bother listing the possibilities because you have provided no systems specs. As for the listings in Device Manager, it's not unusual to have duplicates. If you're concerned, right click on each one & click uninstall (if it will let you).

Uninstall all you can, then reboot & Windows will re-install what it needs. I am having a problem with the system idle taking up a lot of cpu (between 97 and 99%) That is normal, not a problem at all Absolutely nothing at all to worry about. System Idle is as the name suggests, idle time when the CPU has got nothing to do which is the case most of the time for all CPUs. If System Idle Time was only 10% then you would have something to sorry about. As for the primary and secondary IDE channels, I think you are reading the information wrong.

Impossible to have two primary IDE channels. Best follow that old adage, if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Stuart message edited by StuartS. Do you understand what 'Idle' means? 97-99% idle means only 1-3% of the CPU is being used.
