I did a 'check for updates' on my 'Windows Update' last night and was told that I needed to update my Windows Update before I could check for updates. So I hit the install button (on Windows Update).
Then right away I got the WindowsUpdatexxxx (sorry I didn't write down the number) error. I hit cancel, hit 'check for updates' again, and instead saw my old list of outstanding updates (those are just optional updates, not recommend/important ones, and shouldn't block the new update).
I closed Windows Update, tried again, and saw that same 'you need to update your windows update' again, hit 'install', got the same error. After I cancelled this time, I no longer get any message to ask me to update my Windows Update. I've rebooted my machine, still nothing, just my old list of updates on my Windows Update. On my update history, I am not seeing anything dated today. Can I manually download this update for my Windows Update somewhere? I have Windows Vista SP2.
