A growing concern: There are no drivers for my HP Laserjet 1022. Third party companies wrote fewer for Vista and I wonder what percentage of their product they will write drivers for?
Not being able to use my fairly new Laserjet printer will have an ultimate impact as to whether I graduate from the release candidate. I gave a go at the Vista 64 and XP 64 driver but no OS trickery would be had today. Without a printer I will only be doodling with Windows 7, but thanks for the peek. But, if you have a driver in your pocket I would be forever indebted to you. Hello Hammerwolf, Let’s give this a shot.
Hp 1022 Driver Download Free
If you have downloaded the most current Vista driver for your device, locate the install executable and right click on the file. Chose the “Troubleshoot Compatibility” option and Windows 7 will run a check and then display a window offering you a choice of troubleshooting options, select “Try recommended settings”.
You will then be advised of the settings that Windows 7 will use to install your software. Click on the “Start the Program” button. This should launch the driver installation software using the compatibility settings indicated. Let us know if this gets your printer up and running. HP is responsible for creating Windows 7 compatible drivers and then submitting them to Microsoft to ensure that they meet minimum standards. I would recommend that you let HP know that you want the drivers.
You can also do a search on the internet for Open source drivers for your device. These drivers are “use at your own risk” but if HP does not create Windows 7 compatible drivers for your device it is an option you might want to consider. Hopefully the compatibility settings will get you up and running. I hope this information is helpful. Thanks, Jack Jack Microsoft Answers Support Engineer Visit our and let us know what you think.
