In my I bewailed the lack of stats that doesn’t allow me to figure out how important non-Google Chromia are. Today, however, I received 100K Chromium hits from a Dutch mobile ad network. Although these numbers are not representative for the entire world, any data is better than no data, so here it goes. The conclusion must be that non-Google Chromia are a Thing, and that, depending on the vendor, they make up between one quarter and two thirds of traffic to this particular network. Overall they’re at 58% of mobile Chrome. I analyzed 46,538 separate hits (the rest were WebViews or unclear; we’ll save the WebViews for later), and here are the results:. Finepix viewer for mac. Overall, non-Google Chromia are responsible for 58% of the Chrome/Android hits.

(I count both 40 and 39 as Google Chrome.). The most-used older Chromium is 28 with 27% of total hits.

This is almost entirely due to Samsung using it in its high-end phones. Samsung Chromium 30 is also a thing. Samsung is most succesful in converting its users to its own browsers.

Fully 67% of Samsung Chromium users use a Samsung one, and not a Google one. Sony has a Chromium 33. It’s likely that it’s a fairly new one, since 70% of Sony Chromium users are still on Google Chrome. Motorola: more or less the same story. Huawei and Acer go for Chromium 30.

The data How to read: Samsung has 65% of all hits. Of those Samsung hits, 2% used Chromium 18, 40% used Chromium 28, etc. I left out device vendors and Chromium versions below 1%, so the percentages do not add up to 100%. (Niels runs, so he sees a LOT of different browsers and devices.) It seems that the Chromia 38 by Samsung and LG aren’t widely deployed yet. But that’ll change. Also compare these numbers to from September. It was based on a website, not an ad network.
