I just assumed by now that any phone out on the market with a camera would have the potential for picture messaging.yet the most sophisticated phone to date seems to lack this feature. Am I ever going to be able to send/recieve picture messages? (Yes, I know about 'www.viewmymessage.com', but that rarely works, and I can only access that on my computer.) I just think it's strange that my phone can find my exact location globally, yet it can't send a picture to my friend's cell.a little disappointing in my opinion. If you agree, keep this post going.let the programmers know that this is an issue that matters to us! Message was edited by: Jyles1024. This is a user to user help forum only, so doubtful any fellow users know what Apple plans to include or not include with a future firmware update. You can accomplish the same via email.

Ask the sender of an MMS to address the MMS to an email address for an email account that you access with the iPhone's mail client. The sender will enter your email address in the To: field for the MMS instead of your cell phone number with area code. The MMS will be received by you as an email with the photo as an attachment, and if you also access the email account with an email client on your computer, you will have access to the received message on your computer. This will give you the sender's cell phone MMS email address. Add this email address to the contact's info in your iPhone's address book. Select a photo to be sent as an email and address the email to this email address. The message will be received by the recipient as an MMS with their phone.

Isn't Flutter only for iPhones? If a person can send a pic message, they can send it to email, they are just too lazy or don't know what the heck they're doing. Picture messaging is emailing a photo, except it emails it to the MMS server for the cellular company and then forwards it to the cell phone number's email address. For example, if you have Verizon, the email address used by the MMS server and what you can use, is xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com (the x's are the 10 digit phone number).

If you would have done your research you would have realized that the iPhone cannot do picture messaging, except it was approved by apple in another country. You would have also realized that there are about a million threads like this one, so please just leave it alone. If apple wants to include pic messaging they will, otherwise it will never happen, because apple doesn't like giving away control of a device or software (even in the slightest) to other entities.

That is why the appstore works, because apple has to approve everything, now I know that they are also doing this so that the iphone stays running free of problems, so there is a good side to it as well. You can watch the preview for firmware update 3.0 here, which is as forthcoming as it will be before 3.0 is released. Support for MMS will be added to the existing SMS client - sent and received with what will become an SMS/MMS client with firmware update 3.0.

Flutter is an interesting application for the Mac that lets you use hand gestures to control playback of audio from your Mac. If you think of Flutter as Kinect for the Mac, you'll get a good idea of what it does, although the current version is limited to audio file playback. Flutter is a free download and installs quickly and easily.

Once installed, you can use Flutter through the Mac's camera to control your audio file playback. You can hold up a palm to stop playback of an audio file, and you can stick your thumb to the left or right to move to next or previous song (or simply move through the current song).

To use Flutter properly, you need to be in visual range of the Mac camera, a distance of up to about 6 feet. We tried Flutter with iTunes, Spotify, and QuickTime and it worked with all three, and we suspect it will work with other apps too. The developers will be extending Flutter to work with other apps than music playback, but at the moment this is all it does. Having said that, it's really cool to load up and demonstrate to your friends. Since Flutter is free, if you play a lot of audio files on your Mac you should give this a try just for fun. Flutter is Kinect for Mac. It uses HAND GESTURES detected via built-in webcam in your device to play, pause and skip songs & videos in iTunes, Spotify, Rdio, MPlayerX (latest version), VLC (latest version), Ecoute, Quicktime, and Keynote.

Play/Pause your music & videos using simple hand gestures (palm gesture). Go to Next Song (thumbs right) or rewind to Previous Song (thumbs left) (Note: First thumbs left gesture takes you to beginning of song. Another thumbs left performed quickly jumps to the previous song). Works via your webcam - no additional hardware necessary. Works best from 1-6 feet distance from webcam.

Works even when Spotify, iTunes, Rdio, and other apps are playing music/video in the background or are minimized screenshots.
